The engagement ceremony is a sacred promise between families, where the bride and groom exchange rings and seek blessings from elders. The tradition includes gifting gold, silk sarees, and a grand feast.
Karthik and Sangeetha begin their journey together surrounded by love and the warmth of their families. This engagement marks a beautiful promise — a step toward forever, filled with blessings, happiness, and togetherness.
Performed at both homes, this ritual seeks divine blessings to ensure the wedding occurs without obstacles. It includes lighting lamps, placing turmeric-dipped banana stems, and offering prayers to family deities.
In this inviting ritual, the groom’s family visits the bride’s house with trays of gifts like silk sarees, jewelry, betel leaves, and fruits, inviting the bride formally to the wedding.
On the wedding day, the groom arrives at the mandapam in a festive procession, often accompanied by Nadaswaram or thappattam. The bride’s family gives him a grand welcome.
A playful act where the groom pretends to renounce worldly pleasures for a spiritual journey, but is convinced by the bride’s father to marry his daughter instead—symbolizing duty over renunciation.
The sacred moment when the groom ties the thaali (mangalsutra) around the bride’s neck amidst chanting, music, and blessings. This act seals the spiritual and social union of marriage.
